Arkadiusz Dzielawski – painter, photographer and designer – was born in 1967 in Czestochowa, Poland. He graduated from the Częstochowa Art School and then obtained the faculty of Art Education at the Pedagogical University. In 1993 he received an artistic scholarship from the Mayor of the city. His paintings are located in private collections in Poland and abroad.
Arkadiusz Dzielawski’s painting falls within the movement of magical realism. His paintings present a seemingly ordinary, everyday reality. Thanks to the surprising combinations of the motifs presented, the multiplication of details, as well as the manipulation of perspective and light, they acquire unique and surrealistic features. Painting became an escape from the chaos of the world for the artist, a kind of therapy combined with meditation. Paintings emanate peace and harmony. The border between what is real and what is fantastic is blurred, and the characters from the canvases are trying to make contact with the recipient. The accumulation of details and symbols refers to the viewer’s imagination, connotations and own experiences, encouraging independent interpretation.
